Knights of Columbus scholarships handed out
The Knights of Columbus, Council 1461, Batesville, awarded 10 scholarships worth $1,000 each to local students.
Four scholarships went to graduating eighth graders who will be continuing their education to a Catholic high school. The winners were Emily Ulrich, Andrea Cox, Alec Back and Peter Lamping.
Two scholarships went to students currently attending a Catholic high school. Those winners were Jeannine Bosse and Aaron Cox.
Another pair of graduating high school seniors – Tess Kuntz and John Kuntz. – advancing to an accredited college or university in the Fall of 2008 were awarded $1,000.
Two scholarships went to students currently attending an accredited college or university. Krista Bergman and Jason Amrhein were the recients.
The Knights of Columbus started the Scholarship Program in 2001. Since then, we have awarded seventy-one thousand dollars in scholarships for students attending a Catholic high school or an accredited college or university.

OA students prepare for new directions
Oldenburg Academy of the Immaculate Conception seniors were all smiles when they entered the Sisters of St. Francis Chapel May 30 for their graduation ceremony as cameras flashed from all directions.
