The Batesville Lady Bulldogs varsity basketball team posted a 51-43 victory over winless Shelbyville .
The Lady Bulldogs were outscored in two of the four quarters, but a 23 point effort in the third proved to be the difference.
Trailing 20-18 at halftime, the Lady Bulldogs regrouped to outscore Shelbyville 23-8 in the third to take a 41-28 lead into the final eight minutes.
Brooke Rohlfing led the team in scoring with 14 points. She also grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds and recorded six steals. Chelsey Paul was second in scoring with 11 points.
Shelbyville’s Riley Achenbach led all scorers with 32 points.
The Batesville junior varsity was a 40-14 winner.
Ten different players scored for coach Elliott Tekulve’s squad. Kelsey Gausman set the pace with 10 points. Tara Prickel was next in line with six. Kelsey Forbeck and Samantha Heidlage share top honors under the basket with six rebounds apiece.
