The Batesville High School freshman boys basketball team made its home debut Monday night.
The Bulldogs came away with a victory knocking off South Decatur by a score of 52-23.
After playing to an 8-8 tie through the first quarter, a 20-6 second quarter put the Bulldogs ahead for good. They would go on to outscore the Cougars 24-9 in the second half.
Austin Meyer led all scorers with 10 points, while Jacob Koehne and Shane Belter chipped in nine each.
“Tonight was a total team effort for us,” coach Ben Siefert commented. “Ten different guys scored and all 11 guys played significant minutes in the win.
“The guys are starting to look comfortable out there and we’re finding our identity as a team,” he added.
