Oldenburg Academy runners put to the test at Richmond

-- — The Oldenburg Academy cross country teams traveled north to compete at the Richmond Invitational Hare and Hounds. 

This is an European style meet with barriers, mud, water and plenty of hills, according to coach Merle Hines. 

Sarah Billingsley won the girl's race with a time of 19:49.  Meredith Maier finished next with a time of 21:15 followed by Rachel Billingsley (21:33), Claire Dickey (24:11), Courtney Unkrich (26:14), Bobbie Wagner (30:32), and Jackie Unkrich (32:02).

The Lady Twisters placed third in a field of 12 teams.

The boys were led by Isaiah Frey with a time of 21:02. Other top finishers for OA included Luke Wukusick (21:17), Chris Nurrenburg (22:49), Nick Back (26:57 - despite losing a  shoe in the water barrier and being forced to stop to put it back on), and Brian Ulrich (27:09).

The boys finished 11th out of 12 teams.
