Lady Twisters knock off No. 1 Lawrenceburg

The Oldenburg Academy girls soccer team established themselves as the team to beat in the area by knocking off the state’s No. 1 ranked Lawrenceburg Lady Tigers by a  score of 2-1.

The No. 7 ranked Lady Twisters scored a pair of goals in the first half to take a one goal lead and eventually defeat the host Lady Tigers in a weather-shortened game.

Hannah Hanauer and Maria Lewis each scored for the Lady Twisters. Hanauer’s goals came on an assist by Sarah Wilder, while Lewis got help from Hanauer.

Two days earlier, the Lady Twisters blanked the winless Franklin County Lady Wildcats by a score of 7-0.

The Lady Twisters improved to 12-1 on the season, while the Lady Tigers dropped to 13-2.
