The Batesville High School tennis tennis succesfully defended its sectional title with a 4-1 victory over South Dearborn on Saturday.
The Bulldogs claimed the victory early with three wins in the first four matches. The victory at No. 3 singles took a bit longer than the others.
The No. 1 doubles team of Henry Luchow and Nick Kirschner made short work of Rob Werning and Justin Keler and won in straight sets.
Right behind the doubles team was Kassidy Kase defeating Gideon Loveland at No. 1 singles.
It was only a short time later the No. 2 doubles team of Mitchell Taylor and Jacob Paul made it official with a victory against Ryan Howell and Dalton Ranshaw.
Freshman Blake Walsman needed a little extra time, but came away with a 7-5 and 6-3 win over Jeff Wolfram at No. 3 singles.
The Bulldogs were 4-1 winners over the East Central Trojans in round two on Thursday.
Kase defeated Seth Hovland 6-3 and 6-4, while Walsman beat Tyler Brand.
Kirschner and Luchow posted a 6-2 and 6-2 win over Tyler Wilson and Nathan McCann.
Taylor and Paul won by a 6-1 and 6-1 margin over Kameron Gick and Michael McCann.
The Lawrenceburg Tigers managed to win only 14 games in the five matches and fell to the Bulldogs by a score of 5-0.
Kase and Walsman were straight set winners, while Dustin Nobbe went three sets at No. 2 singles to beat Teddy Bertraux 4-6, 6-1 and 6-1.
Both the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles teams were 6-0 and 6-0 winners over their Tiger opponents.
