Fourteen golf teams from the area converged on Greensburg Country Club for the annual golf sectional Friday afternoon.
The Columbus North Bull Dogs carded a team score of 306 to take the title with Greensburg (316) and Shelbyville (318) also advancing to the regional.
The top three scores from players on non qualifyiung teams also get to keep their seasons alive.
Oldenburg Academy’s Andrew Newton recorded the fifth overall best score and the best one from a team other than the top three.
Newton led the Twisters with a 41 on the front nine and a 36 on the back for an 18-hole total of 77.
As a team, the Twisters placed eighth with a score of 338, which was two strokes behind the Batesville Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs were led by Zach Weismiller with an 81, which included nine hole scores of 42 on the front and 39 on the back.
Other scores for the Bulldogs were Joey Balser (82), Kevin Meyer (86), Josh Rhoads (87) and Connor Hagan (90).
In addition to Newton’s 77, the Twisters were led by Benjamin Newton with an 85 followed by David Mullen (86), Mike Johnston (90) and Michael Maple (98).
Greensburg’s Robbi Koors was the individual sectional champion with a score of 71, while Columbus North’s Brandon Knapp and Greensburg’s Quentin Wells each had 74.
The regional will be held at Shadowwood Golf Course in Seymour on Friday.
