BATESVILLE — The Batesville High School varsity softball team celebrated senior night with a 12-0 win over Lawrenceburg.
The Lady Bulldogs scored three runs in the first and two in the second before breaking the game open with seven in the third.
Katie Thomas, Sam Miller and Hannah Putnam all had three hits to lead Batesville at the plate. Meg Liter and Taylor Johnson had two hits apiece.
Morgan Dreyer and Alyssa Dudley each had one hit, but they made them count. Both were home runs.
Miller pitched and recorded the victory. She gave up just one hit and struck out 11 over five innings.
The Lady Bulldogs were defeated 8-3 by Lawrenceburg in the junior varsity contest.
After leading 3-1 through two innings, the Lady Bulldogs gave up seven runs in the third to fall behind for good.
Mary Fegley and Savanna Volz each had two hits to set the pace offensively. Jill Zoller had the only other hit for the Lady Bulldogs.
