-- — Hillcrest Golf and Country club hosted the annual Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference golf tournament on Saturday.
The host Batesville Bulldogs were 17 strokes better than the second placing East Central Trojans (347) to capture the team title.
Franklin County (353) and Greensburg (365) were third and fourth, respectively. Lawrenceburg (373) and South Dearborn (410) rounded out the field of six.
All five Batesville players finished in the top 10 to earn all-conference honors.
Dominique Schildknecht turned in the top score for the Bulldogs and was second overall. Schildknecht finished with an 18-hole score of 80, including nine hole totals of 37 on the front and 43 on the back.
Alec Giesting covered the first nine holes in 37 strokes and back nine in 44 for an 18-hole score of 81. Giesting was fourth overall in the field of 30 golfers.
Grant Meyers was third for the Bulldogs and fifth overall with an 83 followed by Ben Luchow with an 86.
Sophomore Henry Luchow was 10th in the standings with an 88.
The second-placing Trojans were led by conference medalist Nathan Fields with a 77. Fields had a 37 on the front nine and answered with a 40 on the back.
Other top scores for EC included Ethan Jenkins (84), Hayden Jenkins (90) and Lee Newsom (96).
Franklin County’s Dylan Huber turned in the tournament’s third best score with an 80.
