-- — The Batesville American Legion Post 271 baseball team continues to find it hard to get wins.
Post 271 lost a doubleheader to Muncie on Sunday at Liberty Park.
Muncie was a 15-8 winner in game one and followed up with a 23-0 victory in the second.
Batesville scored three runs in the first inning to take an early 3-1 lead before giving up three in the top of the second.
Muncie stretched its lead to 8-3, but Batesville rallied with four runs in the bottom of the fourth to keep it close.
Seven Muncie runs over the final three innings were more than Batesville could overcome.
Corey Reynolds had two hits and walked once to lead Batesville. Other players with one hit included Wyatt Schebler, Taylor Kopplin, Will Ollier, Ben Summers, and Tyler Rosfeld.
Batesville managed only two hits in the second game. Summers and Josh Kinker each singled.
One day earlier, Batesville dropped two to the Cincinnati Storm.
The first game was a 14-4 defeat to the Storm.
Kinker led the way with two hits in three plate appearances.
The Storm crossed the plate 14 times in the top of the fifth inning to pull away for a 22-6 victory in the second game. Schebler, Kopplin and Jim Moorman each had two hits for Post 271.Ollier and Summers each had one hit.
Batesville dropped to 4-11 on the season.
