-- — It was a busy weekend for the Batesville American Legion Post 271 baseball team.
Batesville dropped a doubleheader to Richmond on Saturday and suffered a loss to Aurora on Sunday.
Post 271 managed only three hits in a 9-4 loss to Aurora at Liberty Park.
Wyatt Schebler stole home for the team’s lone run in the second inning. Batesville added three runs in the four to make a it a 5-4 game.
Aurora answered with one run in the sixth and three in the seventh.
Dustin Nobbe, Taylor Kopplin and Corey Reynolds accounted for the Batesville hits.
In addition to Schebler two runs, Tyler Folkman and Ben Summers each crossed the plate once.
Batesville lost the opener of the doubleheader with Richmond by a score of 7-1.
Dylan Enzinger the team’s only run in the fourth inning.
Nobbe, Will Ollier and Josh Kinker each had one hit.
The second game was better offensively, but the end result was an 8-2 defeat.
Summer, Kopplin, Reynolds, Schebler and Justin Ahaus each had one hit for coach Doug Behlmer’s crew.
