-- — Batesville High School was the host team for this year’s Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference tournament.
Played over two days at North Branch Golf Course, the Lady Bulldogs had the edge from the start.
Batesville entered the second day of the tournament with a team score of 179 strokes, which was 19 better than second place Franklin County Lady Wildcats with Greensburg in at 199.
The Lady Bulldogs left little doubt as play concluded.
Batesville carded a team record 162 on the second nine, which led to a school record 18-hole total of 342. In the process, they went on to win by a total of 40 strokes over the Greensburg Lady Pirates. Franklin County finished third with a 391.
It is the third consecutive conference title for the Lady Bulldogs.
Sophomore Madison McCreary led the way for the Lady Bulldogs with a two-day total of 77. McCreary’s 18-hole score tied a school record and earned her conference MVP honors.
The Lady Bulldogs landed three other players on the all-conference team. Alex Heidlage was second overall followed by Lauren Duncan in fifth and Mary Fegley in sixth.
