--- — Dear Editor, On Sunday, July 4, 84 runners and walkers participated in the annual 4 on the 4th race to raise money for the Batesville Area Ministerial Association Food Pantry. While Batesville Christian Church hosts the race, it is truly a community effort. The support of local sponsors: Crum Trucking, Greensburg Motorsports, Pizza Haus, ETC, Margaret Mary Community Hospital, Paul Ehrman State Farm Insurance Agency, Miller’s Power Wash Inc. and Tudor Square Realty enabled us to keep costs low so that more money could be given to the food pantry. Also, the Batesville Street Department and Batesville Police Department provided support that ensured a safe race. Kroger provided fruit and granola bars for participants after the race and water was supplied by Hartman Heating/Cooling and Water. Volunteers from the church ensured that the event went off without a hitch. Door prizes were also donated by several area businesses to make for a fun event. And participants themselves brought 80 cans of food that went directly to the food pantry. Because of the support and participation of the community, the 4 on the 4th raised $1,200 for the food pantry. We want to thank all who made this event not only a lot of fun, but something that served a valuable purpose as well. Steve Yeaton Senior Minister Batesville Christian Church
