Roberta Jean Mays, 57

— Roberta Jean Mays, 57, Batesville, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at a daughter’s home in Batesville.

Born June 25, 1955, in Highland Park, Detroit, she was the daughter of Vernon and Christine (Smith) Cornett.  

The 1973 graduate of North Decatur High School worked for many years at BCA, eight years at Hill-Rom and had been employed for the past 16 years at Valeo.  She was a member of New Point Christian Church.

Roberta, a very devoted mother and grandmother, is survived by her children Rhonda Phillips and Christy (Mike) Lecher, Batesville; her father, New Point; nine grandchildren; daughter-in-law Heather Mays, Batesville; and sisters Teresa Moody, Osgood, and Cheryl Agapie, Sunman.

She was preceded in death by her mother and son Joshua Mays.

Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 11, from 6-8 p.m., and services will be Monday, Nov. 12, at noon at New Point Christian Church with the Rev. Mark Vice officiating. Burial will be in Rossburg Cemetery, New Point.
