Erma Counts, 60

-- — Erma Counts, 60, Laurel, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at St. Francis Hospital, Indianapolis.

The daughter of Laura and George Tuggle was born March 21, 1952, in Laurel. On Nov. 30, 1992, Erma married Carl Counts in Brookville, and he survives.

Erma truly enjoyed working and taking care of her patients at Decatur County Memorial Hospital as a certified nursing assistant. Erma loved the outdoors. She enjoyed spending time in her garden, tending her flowers, taking walks, fishing and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband; daughters Laura “Miki” (David) Asche, Laurel, and Dedra (Gary) Landware, Versailles; son Jamie Estes, Laurel; sisters Helen Hardwick, Virginia Layton, Sandra Staup, Brenda Rechenbach, Darla Jones and Barbara Clontz; brothers Glenn, Gary, Robert, Gerald and Dennis Tuggle; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Talena Counts; one sister, Alice Williams; and one infant brother.

There will be a visitation for family and friends Friday, Oct. 26, from 4-8 p.m., and Erma’s funeral service will be held Saturday, Oct. 27, at 1 p.m. at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home, Greensburg. Burial will follow at Stipp’s Hill Cemetery, Buena Vista (Laurel).
