Gerald D. Williams, 74

-- — Gerald D. Williams, 74, Holton, passed away Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at St. Francis Hospital, Indianapolis.

The son of Glenn and Martha (Rayburn) Williams was born in the Flat Rock community near Osgood Feb. 24, 1938. He was married to Carolyn Schlotman Sept. 12, 1954, and she survives.

Other survivors include three sons: Mark (Jana) Williams, Edinburgh, Steve (Beth) Williams, Nashville, Tenn., and Andy (Theresa) Williams, Greensburg; two daughters: Beth Hewitt, Batesville, and Lisa (Denny) Granger, Columbus; 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; one brother: Milford (Carol) Williams, Bennington; two sisters: Beverly (Chuck) Newlin, Osgood, and Carolyn (John) Newlin, Lafayette.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Sue Rice.

Mr. Williams was a graduate of Holton High School. He was a 30-year employee of Cummins Engine, Columbus, retiring in 1997, and had worked until 2010 at GECOM, Greensburg. Gerald was a member of Union Flat Rock Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Monday, Oct. 15, from 5-8 p.m. at Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home, Versailles, and Tuesday, Oct. 16, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. funeral services at Union Flat Rock Baptist Church with Brother Malvin McCullough officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be given to Rescue 69 in care of the funeral home.
