Waldo I. Dwenger Jr., 69, Hamburg, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, at his residence.

Born Sept. 17, 1940, in Franklin County, he married Nola (Davidson) Dwenger Feb. 11, 1961, in Oneida, Ky.

The 40-year Batesville Casket Co. employee was a Batesville Church on the Rock member. The quiet man was content to spend hours out on his tractor. The talented woodworker made many pieces for his wife and swings for the grandchildren. His favorite meals included fish and Nola’s fried dried apple pies.

Survivors include his wife; two sons: Jeff Dwenger, Flomaton, Ala., and Greg Dwenger, Oneida, Ky.; two sisters: Emma Kroner, Sunman, and Hazel Dwenger, Westport; two brothers: Paris Dwenger, Delaware, and Joe Dwenger, Lawrenceburg; six grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

A son, Johnny Dwenger, preceded him in death.

Visitation and the funeral officiated by the Rev. Roger Dean were Monday, Nov. 30, at Weigel Funeral Home. Burial was at the Batesville United Methodist Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Hansen Center or Abundant Life Assembly of God Church.
