David Ray Cope, 47, Batesville, died at home Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009.
He was born to Harold and Lois (Ferguson) Cope in Cincinnati Oct. 28, 1962. On Jan. 24, 1987, he married Pam (Stille) Cope, who survives.
The 1980 Batesville High School graduate was employed by Batesville Casket Co., then by Hill-Rom Co. in the overbed table department.
The advocate for animals loved to walk and care for neighborhood dogs and bike around town. Cope and his wife enjoyed traveling to destinations from Las Vegas to Washington, D.C.
Other survivors include his mother and stepfather: Lois and John Turner, Batesville; a brother: Dan Cope, Covington, Ky.; and a sister: Joyce “Joy” Navarra, Batesville.
His father predeceased Cope.
No services will be held. His body was donated to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Margaret Mary Community Hospital or People Assisting Animals In Need in care of Meyers Funeral Home, which assisted the family.
