Robert A. Wettering, 76

-- — Robert A. Wettering, 76, Milan, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at Margaret Mary Community Hospital.   

The son of Joseph and Stella (Youngman) Wettering was born Thursday, April 23, 1936, in Batesville. He married Joan (Morgan) Wettering June 16, 1978, and she preceded him in death Sept. 5, 2011.  

Bob was a veteran, having served his country in the U.S. Marines. The retired Batesville Casket Co. employee was a member of Milan American Legion Post 235 and was of the Catholic faith. He loved fishing, building model boats, doll houses, trains, etc. He was an avid dog lover, and was the family “dog sitter.’’  He also loved bird watching and, most of all, spending time with his family.

Bob is survived by daughters Nicole (Jeff) Dickman, Napoleon, Janice (Ron) Pruss, Milan, Gwen Honaker, Lawrenceburg, and Rosanna (Roland) Peek, California; son Reggie (Charlene) Honaker, Patriot; brother Leo Wettering, Batesville; sisters Rosie Fullenkamp, Oldenburg, and Sally Miller, Florida; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  

He also was preceded in death by brothers Harry and Carl Wettering and sister Marie Bland.

Funeral services officiated by Pastor Charles Miller and visitation will be private at the family’s convenience.   Burial will be in New Craven Cemetery, Milan. Memorials may be made to the Ripley County Humane Society through Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Box 243, Milan, IN 47031. The online register book may be signed at www.lawscarrmoore.com.
