Della Anna Meyer, 93

— Della Anna Meyer, 93, Batesville, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at St. Andrews Health Campus.  

Born March 13, 1919, in Batesville, she was the daughter of William and Dora (Selke) Beinke.  Della married Clarence Meyer Aug. 31, 1940, at St. John United Church of Christ, Huntersville.

Like most women of this era, Della loved gardening, tending to her flowers, canning, sewing and quilting.  At Easter, she always made matching dresses for her daughters. The St. John United Church of Christ, Huntersville, member also was a Loyal Workers member there. Della and her husband visited the church’s sick and elderly for many years. They were also instrumental in setting up the harvest home display in church each fall, providing most of the produce. Most of all, the Post Teen Home Economics Club member loved being with her grandchildren.

Della will be truly missed by sons  Donald (Suzette) Meyer, Columbus, and Wallace (Eunice) Meyer, Osgood; daughters LaVonne (Gayle) Sarringhaus, Batesville, and DeVota (Gary) Weberding and LuCinda (John) Wilhelm, Sunman; 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Hilda Thie, infant sister Bertha Beinke, three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Visitation is Friday, March 8, from 4-7 p.m. at Meyers Funeral Home. The Rev. David Johnston will officiate funeral services Saturday, March 9, at 11 a.m. at St. John United Church of Christ, Huntersville, where memorials may be given.
