Wilma E. Loh, 94

— Wilma E. Loh, 94, a three-year resident of The Waters of Rising Sun, passed away there Saturday morning, Jan. 19, 2013.

Wilma was born Dec. 1, 1918, in Ohio County to William and Myrtle (Kinnett) Wehmeyer. To this union three children were born, Wilma, James and Omer. Her parents and both of her brothers have preceded her in death.

Wilma graduated from Rising Sun High School in 1938. In April 1940, she was married to George Loh, who passed away Jan. 24, 1995. From 1952-66 Wilma and George resided in the Cass Union School area and Wilma was very active in PTA work. She was involved in Happy Homemakers, and helped in the county extension office, setting up activities for 4-H and home economics clubs.

She resided in Batesville for 40 years, and was a longtime Batesville United Methodist Church member.

Surviving are her three children: Donna (Wayne) Uhlmansiek, West Chester, Ohio, Dennis (Brenda) Loh, Columbus, and Gary (Elizabeth) Loh, Elizabethtown; five grandchildren: Kathryn (Kevin) Uhlmansiek Statzer, David (Kristi) Uhlmansiek, Gregory (Amy) Loh, Rebecca Loh  and Christina (Nathan) Loh Smith; and nine great-grandchildren ages 3-11.

A celebration of Wilma’s life will be Wednesday, Jan. 23, at 11 a.m. at DeVries Funeral Home, Dillsboro, with Pastor Larry Dimick officiating. Friends may meet her family there Tuesday, Jan. 22, from 5-8 p.m. She will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery, Aurora. Memorials may be given to Batesville United Methodist Church or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
