Norbert V. Hahn, 85

— Norbert V. Hahn, 85, Greensburg, passed away Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Indianapolis.

Born April 1, 1927, in Decatur County, he was the son of the late Lawrence J. and Josephine C. (Harpring) Hahn.   

Norbert graduated in 1945 from Greensburg High School. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Greensburg, and the Knights of St. John. The farmer was an avid sports fan and loved to follow his grandchildren in their sports and other activities.

He was married to Marjorie A. Stier May 29, 1948, and she preceded him in death Feb. 27, 2009.

He is survived by six sons: Ted (Susie) Hahn, Dan (Sue) Hahn, Mark (Kim) Hahn and Pat (Mona) Hahn, Greensburg; Gordon (Sue) Hahn, Aurora, Ill., and Andy (Connie) Hahn, New Castle, one daughter: Nicki (Gene) Wuestefeld, Batesville; one brother: Ralph (Beverly) Hahn, Greensburg; 22 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by one brother, Ernest Hahn; and one sister, Mildred M. Koors.

A rosary for family and friends will be prayed at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home, Greensburg, then visitation will follow from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. John Meyer officiating.

Interment will be held in the church cemetery. Memorials may be given to the St. Mary’s Church Building Fund or American Heart Association. Online condolences can be made to the family at www.popfuneralhome.com.
