Dorothy "Dot" M.Ricke, 77

Dorothy "Dot" M. Ricke, 77, Greensburg, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009, at her residence.

Born Sept. 13, 1931, in Decatur County, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Alberta (Peters) Koors. On Oct. 24, 1953, she was married to Willard Ricke, who survives.

She attended St. Mary’s Catholic School, Greensburg, and Oldenburg Academy before graduating from Greensburg High School. Ricke worked for Johnson Wholesale prior to her marriage. The Daughters of Isabella 50-year member also was a member of the Greensburg Country Club and St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Greensburg.

Also surviving are two sons: William Ricke, Washington, and Thomas Ricke, Greensburg; one daughter: Patricia Hensley, Greensburg; eight grandchildren: Crystal Stevens, Scott and Luke Ricke, Andrea Moore and Brandon, Rebecca, Jessica and Christian Hensley; and two great-grandchildren: Toby Ricke and Asher Moore.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Charles and Paul Koors; and a grandchild: Patrick Hensley.

A celebration of Ricke’s life will be held Wednesday, Aug. 5, from 4-8 p.m. at the Greensburg Knights of Columbus Hall. Visitation is Thursday, Aug. 6, from 9-10 a.m. followed by the funeral officiated by Monsignor Harold Knueven at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial is at the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Decatur County Community Foundation for St. Mary’s School or to Oldenburg Academy.
