The Herald-Tribune

-- — Lillian E. Kinker,  83, Greensburg, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at home.

Born Dec. 4, 1928, in Decatur County, she was the daughter of the late Louise (Picker) and Anthony Haunert. She married Robert Kinker Sr. Oct. 25, 1952, at St. Maurice Catholic Church, St. Maurice, and he preceded her in death Jan. 30, 2012.

She was a registered nurse at Margaret Mary Hospital for over 40 years before retiring in 1993. Lillian enjoyed being a nurse and taking care of people. Her sons talked about her being a caring nurse who would get to know her patients and was genuinely concerned for their well-being.

In her free time, she did quilting and crocheting and often worked crossword puzzles. The boys also talked about her love of animals and spending time outdoors working in her flower and vegetable gardens. They also pointed out she was a good cook and baker. Her pot roast and cookies were favorites.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Robert and Paula Kinker Jr., Douglas Kinker, Stephen and Pamela Kinker, Greensburg; grandchildren Karen Brancamp and Rebecca Kinker; and great-grandson Braylon Brancamp.

She was also preceded in death by her brother,  Paul Haunert.

There will be no public visitation. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Enochsburg,  with the Rev. George Nangaghiveettil officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family requests memorials to the New Point Fire Department or St. John’s Church Building Fund. Weigel Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
