Barbara A. Krieger, 73

-- — Barbara A. Krieger, 73, Batesville, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, at Margaret Mary Community Hospital.

Born Aug. 9, 1939, in Greensburg, she was the daughter of Merle and Ida (Ogden) Johnston. She married Melvin Krieger Nov. 9, 1957, at St. John United Church of Christ, Huntersville, where she was a member. 

The 1957 New Point High School graduate retired from Hill-Rom. She also worked for Steinkamp Co., Ziegler Co., Bruns-Gutzwiller and Batesville Building Materials, part time for Tri-County Financial Inc. and up until her death at Crafts and Occasions. She also was a member of the Batesville Veterans of Foreign Wars  Post 3183 Ladies Auxiliary, Batesville Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie  1130  and Red Hat Belles of Batesville.

Barb was a great cook. Family and friends know she made the best chili, soups and potato salad. She treasured all gatherings of family and friends. Everyone who has the privilege to remember Barb will recall a loving and most giving daughter, wife, mother and friend. To help another was her daily reward.

Barb is survived by her husband; daughter Ann Narwold,  Batesville; son and his wife Brian and Deb Krieger, Batesville; and grandchildren Colt and B.J. Narwold, Blake and Brittany Krieger.

Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 24, from 10 a.m. until the 1 p.m. service at St. John United Church of Christ with the Rev. David Johnston officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to St. John Church Cemetery Fund in care of Meyers Funeral Home.
