Dolores K. Voegele, 80

Dolores K. Voegele, 80, Batesville, died at home Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010.

The daughter of the late Jacob and Emma (Bischoff) Krieger was born in Yorkville March 23, 1929. At St. Martin’s Catholic Church there Sept. 26, 1953, she married Martin “Woody” Voegele, who preceded her in death.

The St. Louis Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella member was the owner and bookkeeper of Voegele Auto Parts for 52 years. The avid 500 player belonged to two card clubs. The animal lover enjoyed her dogs and cats and watching birds at feeders. Voegele also had a passion for sweets, especially chocolate. The wonderful cook will be remembered for her roast beef dinners and vegetable soup. The accomplished seamstress made clothes for her children as well as dolls.

Surviving are two daughters: Barbara Hendrickson, Indianapolis, and Lisa Etchason, New Palestine; two sons: Martin Voegele, Greensburg, and Robert Voegele, Batesville; a sister: Rita Amberger, St. Mary’s; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Sisters Anne Merkel and Sylvia Tebbe and brother Elmer Krieger also preceded her in death.

Visitation is Friday, Feb. 5, from 4-7 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary service at Weigel Funeral Home. The Rev. Bernard Varghese will officiate the 11 a.m. funeral Saturday, Feb. 6, at St. Louis Catholic Church. Burial follows in the church cemetery. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Margaret Mary Community Hospital or the Alzheimer’s Association.
