-- — Herschel L. Kunz, 84, Greensburg, passed away Friday, June 29, 2012, at Decatur County Memorial Hospital there.
The son of Albert and Ester (Peetz) Kunz was born Jan. 23, 1928, in Ripley County.
The Napoleon High School graduate was a St. John’s Lutheran Church, Napoleon, member. The lifelong farmer also served in the U.S. Army.
He married Leona “Irene” (Miller) Kunz Jan. 12, 1948, in Decatur County, and she survives at home.
Other survivors include four sons: Kenneth (Patty) Kunz, Larry (Pam) Kunz, James (Ann) Kunz and Richard (Mary Jane) Kunz, Greensburg; one sister-in-law: Clara Kunz; and four brothers: Floyd Kunz, Rushville, Ralph Kunz, Osgood, Billy Robbins, Greensburg, and Tilford Brunner, North Carolina. Seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister: Vera Kunz; and two brothers: Howard and Cleo Kunz.
Friends may call at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home Monday, July 2, from 4-8 p.m.
