-- — James E. Fritsch, 76, Batesville, died Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Mercy Mount Airy Hospital, Cincinnati.
Born Oct. 12, 1935, in Batesville, he was the son of Helen (Moore) and Alfred Fritsch. He spent 30 years with G.E. as an engineer and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1130 and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
Those who knew Jim will remember his quiet, courteous nature. Batesville will miss seeing him driving around town while out for his daily ride, which was a favorite pastime of his for years. In his early years, he enjoyed traveling and visiting new places. Jim’s other interests often took him outside as he loved to golf, pheasant hunt and fish. In recent years, he began to follow the stock market as a hobby and dabbled a little with buying and selling.
Jim is survived by nieces Nancy (Gary) Juengling, Ross, Ohio, Pamela (Douglas) Harper, Harrison, Ohio, and Lori Kirchner, Cleves, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister Jean Kirchner; brother Clifford Fritsch; and niece Catherine Kirchner.
Visitation is Saturday, Aug. 4, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Weigel Funeral Home. Funeral services follow at 11 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church with the Rev. Randy Summers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family requests memorials to the Vitas Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association.
