David Barrett, 90, Connersville, passed away Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at Hickory Creek of Connersville.
Born in Clay County, Ky., March 25, 1922, he was one of 11 children of the late Robert and Lucy Mobley Barrett.
He had lived for many years in the Hamilton/Fairfield, Ohio, areas before moving to Connersville 15 years ago. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Europe and participated in the Battle of the Bulge under the command of Gen. George Patton. During his service, he had received three Bronze Stars as well as several other service citations.
On Sept. 25, 1948, in Laurel, he married Helen Ledford Barrett, who survives. David had worked at American Kitchens for several years before he went to work at Ford Motor Co., Sharonville, Ohio. He had worked in the transmission area, and upon his retirement he was an forklift operator.
He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Jo Ann Ledford, Connersville, Harold Wilson, Peppertown, and Iona Wilson, Connersville; and many nieces and nephews.
Public graveside services will be held at Dale Cemetery, Connersville, Monday, Oct. 29, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Tim Billups officiating.
