BATESVILLE —
Three Ripley County residents were arrested on drug charges after a multijurisdictional investigation, according to Ripley County Sheriff Tom Grills.
On Dec. 18, 2012, an investigation into the manufacture of methamphetamine was initiated in Franklin County by Indiana State Police and Indiana Conservation Officers resulting in the apprehension of the trio.
With the investigation leading to Ripley County, a cooperative effort between the ISP, Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Batesville Police Department and Ripley County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the seizure of meth and marijuana and criminal charges being filed in both counties.
Pursuant to an investigation by ISP Trooper Christopher Howell, Jerry Flannery Jr., 36, Morris, and Benny Flannery, 38, Batesville, were arrested and charged in Franklin County for manufacture and conspiracy to manufacture meth, a Class B felony; and possession of meth precursors and dumping controlled substance waste, Class D felonies.
On Jan. 8, pursuant to an investigation by Ripley County Sheriff’s Lt. Randy Holt, charges were filed by the Ripley County prosecutor and arrest warrants were issued through the Ripley Superior Court resulting in the second arrest of Jerry Flannery Jr., who was out of jail on bond for possession of marijuana over 30 grams, possession of a controlled substance and neglect of a dependent, Class D felonies; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor.
Lorri Doherty, 46, Morris, was arrested for possession of marijuana over 30 grams and neglect of a dependent, Class D felonies; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor.
Jerry Flannery Jr. and Doherty were transported to the Ripley County Jail, where they were incarcerated pending bond.
