Commissioners and county council members are soliciting volunteers to serve on the new Franklin County Redevelopment Commission. Commissioners will appoint three and council members two.
Eligible candidates must be at least 18 and live in the county.
There is one nonvoting member, a Franklin County Community School Corp. trustee, according to commissioners’ secretary Carol Westerman.
FCRC members will assist the county in economic development and redevelopment activities by studying areas needing development, promoting land use that best serves residents’ interests, cooperating with the two government groups and private sector, assisting in grant applications and managing development plans for future Tax Increment Financing districts.
Résumés should be given to Westerman by Dec. 14. They may be e-mailed to commissioners@franklincounty.in.gov or dropped off at 1010 Franklin Ave., Brookville. Info: 765-647-4985.
