Photos sought for Veterans Day museum exhibit

-- — Indiana’s veterans and active military personnel will be honored this fall at the Indiana State Museum, Indianapolis. A Heroes from the Heartland exhibit will run from Nov. 1 through Veterans Day, Nov. 11. Hoosiers are invited to submit photos of their friends and family who have served or are currently serving in any branch of the military. The first 300 photos received will be printed and posted on a photo mural at the museum. Photos will also be viewable electronically through the Indiana State Museum’s Facebook and Flickr pages.

Photos should be submitted by Oct. 25 to kcreagh@indianamuseum.org and include this information: name, date of service, military division, hometown and nominator’s name.

Folks are encouraged to include special stories about the veterans if possible, such as the servicemember was part of D-Day in World War II.

Veterans Day activities are included in regular museum admission: $9.50 for adults, $8.50 for seniors and $5 for children 3-12. Schools and groups of 20 or more are eligible for special discounted rates at the Indiana State Museum when they schedule visits in advance.

More information about this and other museum events is offered at indianamuseum.org or 317-232-1637.
