On Saturday, Nov. 14, starting at 6 p.m. representatives of churches, schools, youth programs and youth-serving agencies are invited to come together to support each other and bridge their efforts in building assets for Ripley County.
Batesville Church on the Rock leaders have planned an evening that includes a free dinner, resource tables and speech by Bill Stanczykiewicz, Indiana Youth Institute president and CEO, on “The State of Youth in Ripley County.”
Over the past year area individuals and eight church leaders have been looking at the 40 Developmental Asset framework in order to promote healthy youth development, reports Paula Goodpaster, Ripley County Local Coordinating Council member and a Headstart five-county parent coordinator.
Leaders of youth- serving agencies and programs are invited to bring information and resources to share with those who understand how important it is to build an asset rich community for youth.
The event is sponsored by the Assistance for Substance Abuse Prevention Center, Cincinnati; Indiana Youth Institute; and Ripley County Faith Community Coming Together As Asset Builders For Youth. Info and reservations by Nov. 10: Frank Good-paster, 812-212-8407 or fpgood@msn.com.
