A one-vehicle motorcycle personal injury accident occurred Saturday, July 21, at 1:45 p.m. on State Road 229, about one-tenth of a mile north of Oldenburg, according to Franklin County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Jason Lovins.
David Fox, 58, Indianapolis, was southbound on S.R. 229 on a 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle and stated he was traveling too fast to negotiate a curve in the roadway. Fox said when he applied the brakes, his motorcycle began to slide, went off the west side of the roadway and rolled onto its side before it came to rest.
Fox and his passenger, Sandra Clair, 51, New Palestine, were transported to Margaret Mary Community Hospital by Batesville EMS 10 for treatment.
Batesville Patrolman Jerry Taul and the Eagle Fire Co., Oldenburg, also assisted at the scene, according to the report.
