Grant applications due Feb. 1

— Old National Bank Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Old National Bank (NYSE: ONB), is accepting applications for its current grant cycle. The foundation’s primary focus areas are community and economic development and education programs that address critical community needs. It offers two competitive grant programs, which include community partnership grants and strategic grants.

The Strategic Grants Program provides awards of $5,000 or more to eligible nonprofit organizations to support initiatives directly aligned with the foundation’s funding priorities.  The Community Partnership Grants Program provides smaller grants of up to $2,500 to eligible nonprofits to support immediate project-based needs. Community partnership grant applications are accepted on a rolling basis, while strategic grants are awarded twice per year. The upcoming deadline for initial strategic grant applications is Friday, Feb. 1.

In 2012, the Old National Bank Foundation awarded over $800,000 to 134 nonprofit organizations in Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky.  “We are committed to improving the quality of life in our communities and are proud to partner with organizations to help achieve this goal,” said Janet Heldt, Old National Bank Foundation president.
