The Westport Christian Church, Westport, Women’s Conference is Saturday, March 2. All area women are invited to come for worship, spiritual growth and fellowship with other Christian women.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. with a free continental breakfast. The event ends at 3 p.m.
The speakers are a teaching team from Bloomington, Dr. Marsha Turner-Shear and her niece, Joni Noel.
Turner-Shear works as an adjunct professor of English and education for Indiana University, Indiana State University and Ivy Tech Community College. The contributor to Reflecting God, the Church of the Nazarene quarterly devotional, teaches a women’s Bible study at Sherwood Oaks Christian Church, Bloomington. She and her husband, Stuart, host a small Bible study group in their home.
Noel serves with her husband, Brad, in the IU Athletes in Action ministry. They point administrators, coaches, trainers and student-athletes to Christ through large group meetings, small group Bible studies and one-on-one discipleship and fellowship. Noel, who taught first and second grades for five years for Monroe County Community Schools, now homeschools her three children. She serves in lay ministry to women and college students at Sherwood Oaks Christian Church.
Both presenters speak at retreats and other women’s ministry events.
Chalk artist John Lowry will give a presentation and there also will be games, door prizes and gift bags.
The $20 cost includes lunch. Preregistration is preferred at www.westportchristianchurch.com or 812-591-3807.
