-- — A Franklin County motorcycle crash proved fatal for the driver July 22 at around 4:58 p.m., said sheriff’s Deputy Don Speckman, the investigating officer.
Jerry Philips, 58, Richmond, was driving a 2000 Harley Davidson SEI northbound on State Road 229 near Haytown Hill in between Peppertown and Metamora when he lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve.
The motorcycle went off the road, striking a guardrail. The driver was ejected.
Philips was transported by Air Care to University Hospital, Cincinnati, where he was pronounced dead, Speckman reported.
Also assisting at the scene were the Metamora Volunteer Fire Department and Laurel EMS 3.
