Election the theme of Oct. 25 prayer service

-- — Citizens are invited to pray for the nation during this election period at a special Community Prayer Service Thursday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m. at Batesville Christian Church.

The event is organized by Batesville residents Tom Williams, a former U.S. Marines Vietnam veteran, and Tim Schrank.

Williams noted, “This is a nonpartisan Christian service seeking God’s continued blessing on this nation. We’ve invited several community leaders to participate in the service, representing area churches. The Bible tells us to pray for those who are in leadership and all people benefit when we have wise and godly leaders leading this country.”

The service, inspired by a huge one slated Oct. 20 in Washington, D.C., will last about one hour and include a few songs by Indiana Harmony, an area barbershop quartet.

Info: Tom Williams, 934-9020; or Tim Schrank, 212-3715.
