Production a great success

Dear Editor,

We would like to express our gratitude to some very generous individuals and businesses. This year, the annual musical production at Batesville Middle School was Disney’s “Mulan.” The new choral director, Carla Thomas, did a wonderful job teaching and preparing 75 students for the show. She completed an immense amount of work while dealing with a myriad of details and questions. Thank you, Mrs. Thomas.

Also, from BMS, we wish to express our gratitude to Mr. Siefert, Mrs. Bergman, Mr. Enneking, Mr. Pfeiffer and many other helpful staff members.

It was wonderful to work with so many parents in preparation for this event, to see them volunteer to help out in the various areas – costumes, props, hair and makeup, scenery, refreshments, tickets, publicity/programs, donations, equipment setup, afterschool rehearsal assistance, lights and sound, cast party. Everyone added their expertise and enthusiasm, not to mention their great sacrifice of time and effort. More than 70 parents, friends, siblings and high school students helped to make this production a success.

From our community, there were many businesses and individuals who provided money, goods and services toward this great effort, and we would like to publicly thank them: All About Water, Blockbuster Video, Circle Printing, Fullenkamps Sporting Goods, Ison Family Pizza, Janice Lamping, Knisley’s Proforma First Impressions, Kroger, McDonald’s, Southeastern Indiana YMCA, Tom and Vicki Heil and Wendy’s.

Events like this require a great team effort, and what an awesome team we have. As the saying goes, “It takes a village to raise a child.” We are grateful to belong to such a village. Thank you for your support and dedication.

With great appreciation,

Joann Call and Vonnie Williamson
