Opening Day
The grand opening of the Batesville baseball/softball complex is April 28. A 10:30 a.m. parade begins at the parking lot across from Weigel Funeral Home on George Street and will go southwest on Main Street, southeast on Catherine Street, south on Park Avenue and east on Pohlman Avenue to the fields. Then an opening ceremony, including a time capsule, ribbon cutting and balloon launch, takes place at the complex. Special guest is the Cincinnati Reds mascot, Mr. Redlegs. Games start at 1 p.m. In case of rain/storms, the opening ceremonies will be held at Liberty Park pavilion.
