Saturday, Dec. 10

Visits with Santa

Children may visit with Santa in his workshop Dec. 10, 10 a.m.-noon, Batesville Shopping Village. Also Dec. 17.

Model Train Display

A model train display will be at the Batesville Memorial Library beginning Dec. 10, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Also Dec. 11-15 and 17-18.

Live Nativity

The St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Morris, Live Nativity is Dec. 10, 5-9 p.m. Tented, outdoor manger, refreshments  inside parish hall, with live music at both places.

 

Sunday, Dec. 11

Stillboard/Trap Shoot

Batesville Knights of St. John will host a stillboard and trap shoot Dec. 11, 11 a.m., Tri-Township Conservation Club, Oldenburg. Prizes: meat and money.

Stillboard Shoot

Batesville Sons of the American Legion will host a stillboard shoot Dec. 11, noon, Prell-Bland American Legion Post 271, 2899 E. Legion Road. Info: 934-2228.

Holiday Home Tour

The Brookville/ Franklin County Chamber of Commerce Holiday Home Tour is Dec 11. Two town homes may be viewed from 1-4 p.m. and one country home from 1-6 p.m. $5 tickets are available that day at The Gift Shop on (813) Main Street,  Brookville. Info: 765-647-3177.

BMS/BHS Choral Concert

The Batesville Middle and Batesville High School choral concert is Dec. 11, 2 p.m., BHS auditorium.

ECHS Choral Concert

The East Central High School choral concert is Dec. 11, 3 p.m., performing arts center.

 

Monday, Dec. 12

St. LouisConcert

St. Louis School Grades K-8 will present their band, strings and choir Christmas concert Dec. 12, 2 p.m., activity center.

Close Connections

Transition Batesville

Transition Batesville, a group interested in transitioning away from peak oil consumption to more self-sustaining community living, meets the second and fourth Mondays of the month, including Dec. 12, 7-8:30 p.m., Batesville Memorial Public Library. Info: Sister Janet Born, 933-0818.

 

Tuesday, Dec. 13

NARFE Party

Alzheimer’s Group

Card Party

The St. Anne’s Ladies Society sponsors a card party  the second Wednesday of each month, including Nov. 14, 1-4:30 p.m., in the St. Anthony Catholic Church, Morris, lower hall.

Children and teens can  make different ornaments each Wednesday (Dec. 14 and 21), 3-7 p.m., Brookville and Laurel libraries.

 

Thursday, Dec. 15

Cool Kitchen

The Metamora Christmas Walk runs through Dec. 18: Fridays-Saturdays, 10 a.m.-10 p.m.; Sundays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Decorations, strolling carolers, photos with Santa, Whitewater Canal grist mill, horse-drawn carriage rides and unique shops.

Stillboard/Trap Shoot

The Tri-Township Conservation Club, Oldenburg, will host the Clyde Flodder/Mule Nobbe Memorial Shoot Dec. 18, 11 a.m. Prizes: meat and money. Proceeds go to the heart and cancer funds.

“An Untraditional Christmas”

Dance Studio and Miss Shannon’s Music Studio students  present “An Untraditional Christmas” Dec. 18,  2 p.m.,  Batesville High School auditorium.

 

Monday, Dec. 19

Food Pantry

The Ripley County Food Pantry  is open Dec. 19, 9 a.m.-noon and 5:30-7 p.m., Ripley County Fairgrounds Building 16C, Osgood, for the needy in Laughery, Center, Delaware, Jackson, Johnson  and Otter Creek townships. Only one visit per family per month. Residents of other townships should call their trustees  for assistance. Donations always appreciated. Info: 812-689-4427.

Spay/Neuter Clinic
