About us
  • The Herald-Tribune Located in the rolling hills of southeastern Indiana, Batesville is home to Fortune 1,000 company Hillenbrand Industries, known for its casket, hospital equipment and funeral insurance subsidiaries. Over the years, the Hillenbrand family has been responsible for the growth of the community and development of many retail businesses, including the Sherman House, which is one of the oldest inns and restaurants in the state of Indiana.

Founded just over 150 years ago, the area is rich in German heritage, first serving as a way sation for rail workers. Forests full of hardwoods led to the founding of many furniture factories in Batesville. Today, Romweber Furniture Co. and Weberding Carving Shop, a family-owned, nationally-known enterprise, call Batesville home. Tudor style buildings are abundant in the area, and Oldenburg, known as the Village of Spires, is home to the picturesque Sisters of St. Francis Convent. Midway between Indianapolis and Cincinnati, home growth is on the rise as people search for a slower pace than those cities offer.

Batesville's small town atmosphere partnered with big city convenience is a huge beneifit for those moving to the popular community.

The Herald-Tribune is an award-winning publication that has been serving Ripley, Franklin and Dearborn counties since 1891, reaching over 9,000 readers weekly.

When partnered with sister publications in Decatur and Rush counties, you can reach over 90,000 readers who are ready, willing and able to buy your product or service.
